Hillenbrand is looking for a International Tax Manager in Batesville, IN. The International Tax Manager position will be responsible for the development and execution of global strategic tax initiatives. This includes managing the international compliance, worldwide income tax audits; international implications within accounting for income taxes; and providing leadership to the company tax team.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with cross-functional teams and outside consultants located worldwide to develop, implement and defend tax planning strategies
  • Responsible for international direct tax issues, including international tax aspects of cross-border M&A and post-acquisition integrations
  • Oversight of US international tax compliance including:
  • Prepare and analyze earnings and profits, Sub part F, FTC, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, CBC reporting and tax basis for the purpose of tax compliance and US GAAP tax provision.
  • Review foreign tax credit calculation (Form 1118), foreign affiliate information returns (Forms 5471), foreign disregarded entity returns (Forms 8858), and other international compliance matters
  • Work with Treasury to re-patriate excess cash from foreign entities through effective planning and paying minimum taxes in the foreign jurisdictions
  • Oversight of international direct tax controversies
  • Assist with quarterly and yearend international tax provision, both foreign and US international tax aspects
  • Monitor international areas to identify and mitigate potential tax exposure, including compliance with all aspects of ASC 740-10 (FIN 48) for such international tax matters
  • Oversight of global tax compliance process, including review of foreign statutory financials and foreign tax returns
  • Oversee transfer pricing policies and completion of annual transfer pricing studies
  • Team with legal to maintain and develop intercompany agreements and otherwise ensuring operational compliance
  • Responsible for relationship with advisers and auditors on international tax matters
  • Responsible for managing international tax issues with IRS as part of CAP program
  • Develop, document and educate company personnel on international tax policies and procedures
  • Provide expertise and leadership for the tax-related activities of our operations
  • Develops the members of the Tax team by: seeing employee development as integral to the success of the tax function attracting, developing and retaining high-caliber individuals being familiar with employees strengths and weaknesses and developing improvement plans to capitalize on strengths and address weaknesses by delegating projects to employees that will develop their skills.
  • Manage employees utilizing Human Resources processes, including performance reviews and performance expectations, IDP’s, work responsibilities, top grading, etc. Follow all company policies/practices.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of 10 years related tax experience and/or training

Great to Haves:

  • CPA/MBA
  • LLM-Taxation
  • Basic Microsoft Office
  • JDE, Hyperion, CorpTax experience
