We are seeking an Internal Communications Manager on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. Our customer is looking for a technical communicator with extensive experience working in the developer community to support the internal communications team with a campaign effort to work on engagement initiatives among the company’s engineers. This role is part research, part technical writing, and part content and event execution support. The role is 100% remote to these locations: Baltimore, MD, Boston, MA, Houston, TX, Los Angeles, San Diego, CA, and Menlo Park, CA.

What You’ll Do:
Build relationships with engineers across the company to gain insight on what they care about most to inform the campaign’s strategic direction
Serve as liaison between a team of engineers and campaign communications leads to ensure programming resonates and inspires
Support in designing and executing bespoke campaign content and events across internal channels
Work with cross-functional engineering and communications partners to inspire our engineers about the company’s long-term strategy and vision and celebrate their contributions towards achieving it

Must Haves:
8+ years of experience in technical writing/ journalism, communications or working closely with engineers in a tech startup, VC or entrepreneurial role
Ability to quickly build relationships with engineers
Technical writing experience and the ability to understand complex, engineering concepts and translate them to content and production teams
Experience with content generation or event programming support
Self-starter that thrives in a collaborative environment where you must partner cross-functionally and across regions
Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously and working autonomously
Journalism background required
Passionate about the future of social technology preferred
Experience communicating to an employee population of technologists and engineers preferred
Experience with events, logistics and various types of creative content development preferred
Experience designing and implementing metrics-driven communications campaigns or programs preferred
Enjoys working in a fast-paced, highly-matrixed organization

Education:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training required

Hours & Location:
M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be 100% remote.
