Instructor of Graphic and Media Design, ten-month term contract, renewable annually.

Teach introductory and advanced-level courses in all aspects of graphic design, including concept development, page layout, and typography, as well as foundation-level core art courses such as design and technology skills for artists. The teaching load is twelve hours per semester. Other duties include advising, student intern placement, committee work, and personal creative/scholarly activity.

In pursuit of this commitment, an MFA (60 hours) in Graphic Design, Media Design, Computer Art, or related degree from an accredited graduate program is required. In addition, the ideal candidate will have professional experience in the graphic or media design field and an understanding of industry standards. Other desirable traits include teaching experience, expertise with Adobe design and media applications, strength in concept development, and skill and knowledge of illustration concepts and techniques.

Provide a letter of application, vita, three letters of reference from current and former employers/colleagues, transcripts, sample syllabi for an intro course, a statement of teaching philosophy, and samples of your graphic design/ media design work (maximum 10) and/or examples of work from your students (maximum 10).

Finalists will be asked to provide official transcripts. The final applicant for this position will be required to submit to a background screening including criminal background check and drug test pursuant to university policy

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
