The Inspection Technician is a full-time position that takes solar install projects thru the final step of city/county approval. Responsibilities & Duties:

The inspection technician actively manages the inspection calendar and site visits. This includes coordinating appointments with homeowners, city building departments and Solarponics production department. A strong candidate is detail-oriented with great customer service skills, good instincts, great problem-solving, and sound judgment for balancing quality, productivity, and team morale. This person will need to be adaptable to the fast-paced, ever-changing nature of solar. TRAINING PROVIDED.

  • Prep completed installations for final inspection, per local building department requirements (signage, placards, etc)
  • Schedule inspections with homeowners while coordinating to meet with city/county official(s)
  • Work with city/county inspectors to finalize the permit inspection
  • Take jobsite photos of equipment and placards.
  • Follow up on completed inspections and explain results to homeowners
  • Commission solar monitoring systems (will train)
  • Complete basic electrical configurations (will train)
  • Troubleshoot systems
  • Develop positive working relationships with city/county inspectors
  • Complete all necessary tasks to move projects along to the next phase
  • Create weekly status reports and present to manager
  • Additional tasks and duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

  • One to three years of experience in a construction related field
  • Strategic decision making
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Effectively prioritize and manage time well
  • Flexibility to adapt to an ever-changing environment
  • Analytical skills
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Proficiency with computer software programs such as Word and Excel
  • Use of basic hand tools, tape measure
  • Strong commitment to a successful customer experience
  • Knowledge of solar industry and NEC code a plus
  • Understanding of the municipal permitting processes a plus

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs regularly, and be comfortable with heights of at least 20 feet and walking on all roof types
  • Able to work in various weather conditions and in extreme temperatures
  • Able to lift 75 lbs. regularly
  • Must have a verifiable work history
  • Must have valid driver’s license and clean DMV driving record
  • Position requires you pass a drug screen, background check and physical fitness exam

Pay Range: $19-$22/ hr. to start
