Role Overview:

Custom Building Products, the leading manufacturer of floor setting materials nationwide, has an opening for an Electro/Mechanic in our Lithia Springs Facility. This fulltime (plus overtime) hourly position is assigned to the Maintenance Department and will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in industrial maintenance.

Position Requirements:

  • Practical experience in three phase 480V troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Safety-minded with thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and of related safety practices.
  • Remarkable sense of urgency.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Ability to understand technical service manuals and maintain basic records for repair work done.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks properly and in a timely manner.
  • Ability troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
  • Ability to operate personal computer and knowledge of basic computer applications, including computer generated parts and service manuals.
  • Maintain a current Georgia Driver’s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Good communication and interpersonal relationship.
  • Capable of working in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work overtime, on-call duties when necessary.
  • Able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb.
  • Must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally; and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently; and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Prefer candidates Knowledge on NEC and NFPA70a codes and standards.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Knowledge in electrical and electro-mechanical equipment with emphasis on three phase 480V, automated equipment, and PLC.
  • Practical experience troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment, sensors, valves, motors, and PLC.
  • Install, repair and maintain plant process machinery including mixers, packers, motors, pneumatic tools & systems, and conveyor systems. and provide detailed written description of work performed.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting to determine source of problem, and correct the issue once identified.
  • Ability to provide breakdown reports, parts usage, and ability reading electrical and mechanical diagrams.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment per assigned schedule.
