TITLE: Electrician

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, general electric, troubleshooting and repair of all plant manufacturing machinery and facilities in a timely manner while taking direction from the Department Manager, Shift Supervisor, Team Lead and/or Production Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and others measuring instruments.
• Controls downtime by ensuring routine preventive maintenance techniques are accomplished
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Communicate with operators daily on shift to ensure machinery is running properly
• Clean and maintain work areas in maintenance shop and around plant equipment after completing work
• Respond to emergency maintenance request as required
• Follow all plant rules and safety rules and regulations
• Perform maintenance on all lift truck, plant vehicles, lifts, etc
• Order parts for machinery for w/o’s on equipment needing repair
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma/GED
• Electrical &/or PLC Experience.
• Manufacturing, Mechanical, and Industrial skills Experience Required.
• Ability to read and comprehend drawings, blueprints and schematics
• Basic skills in electrical, mechanical, strong hydraulic, pneumatic systems, piping, welding, machinist skills, fabrication and building maintenance required

TRAINING:

As part of the hiring process, all new hires go through a training process during their orientation. Training at this time includes but is not limited to the following:

• Employee Plant Orientation
• Safety Orientation/OSHA Requirements
• Quality Manual and Procedures
• SQF Orientation, Quality Policy and Objectives
• Extensive on the job training in regards to production process and documentation
• SQF Food Safety Training

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

• 8 or 12 hour shifts
• 3pm-11pm Shift
• Monday – Friday
• Weekends are required
• Manufacturing environment
• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $34.66 per hour
