ISS Tech 1 and 2 Positions to work in Bergen, Passaic, Union, Essex, Morris and Sussex Counties

Tech 1 Function: $35 per hour

To establish a therapeutic milieu and deliver effective services through positive behavioral supports and professionalism. To support individuals in maintaining their independence and empowering them to become integrated members of their communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides services to children ages 3-21 with special needs while in the youth's home and/or community.
  • Completes the Child Adaptive Behavior Summary (CABS) with the individual and their parent/guardian;
  • Creates and develops a Treatment Plan that will be implemented by the ISS Tech 2 Provider;
  • Provides 1 hour of weekly face-to-face supervision of the Tech 2 Provider with the individual in their home and/or community
  • Assists and teaches the Tech 2 provider strategies to use with individuals in the following developmental areas; daily living skills (brushing teeth, toileting, bathing, washing hands, etc), social skills, communication skills, safety awareness, eating skills, independence skills (such as meal prepping, laundry skills, household chores, etc).
  • Documents weekly progress notes in CYBER and Care Logic;
  • Maintains communication with the individual’s Care Manager and participates in the Child Family Team Meeting (CFT) every 90 days.
  • Typical hours are during the week (after school) and/or weekends

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (Master’s Degree preferred)
  • Prior experience (minimum 3 years) working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or challenging behaviors
  • One year experience developing treatment plans (required)
  • Ability to effectively work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and races.
  • Employee must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training.
  • Must cooperate with the licensee, Department of Human Services (DHS) staff, Department of Children and Families (DCF) staff and any and all state representatives in any inspection or investigation.

Tech 2 Function: $28 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Provides services to youth under the age of 21 in their home and/or community settings;
  • Services are typically 2-10 hours per week per youth (depending on the CABS Assessment)
  • Implements the ISS Treatment Plan as developed by the ISS Tech 1 Supervisor;
  • Teaches the individual in the following developmental areas: daily living skills (brushing teeth, toileting, bathing, washing hands, etc), social skills, communication skills, safety awareness, eating skills, independence skills (such as meal prepping, laundry skills, household chores, etc).
  • Participates in weekly supervision with the ISS Tech 1 who will teach and assist on implementing the treatment plan;
  • Is responsible for documenting weekly progress notes in CYBER and Care Logic
  • Maintains communication with the individual's case manager and Tech 1
  • Typical hours are during the week (after school) and/or weekends

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A bachelor’s degree with one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or challenging behaviors.
  • One year experience implementing treatment plans
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and races.
  • Ability to effectively work as a team member and implement positive behavioral supports.
  • Employee must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training.
