Auburn based employer seeking an individual with at least 2 years’ experience in an HR/Payroll/Benefits environment. Assisting with the processing of all benefits to include open enrollment for health insurance, filing and managing workers’ compensation claims, communicating and managing leave law options to employees, and processing electronic time cards. Previous payroll experience is a plus. This is a full time position. Remote work is not available.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer and track leaves of absence (FMLA/CFRA/PDL/PFL) ensuring eligibility and assigning appropriate leaves.
  • Administering employee benefits, including open enrollment periods, for health, dental, vision, section 125 and 401k.
  • Process/balance medical billing resolving discrepancies with insurance provider.
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files
  • Maintains benefit spreadsheets and accurate data entry of payroll deductions for benefits
  • Administer workers’ compensation plan including reporting work injuries, monitoring claims, and handling annual audits
  • Ensure compliance with Affordable Care Act requirements including benefit eligibility and required reporting.
  • Audit 1095C annually
  • Respond to EDD claims; file appeals; participate in hearing process
  • Maintain poster compliance for over 200 locations
  • Accurately processing bi-weekly time cards
  • Actively participate in developing and meeting department goals and objectives
  • Perform a variety of other HR/Payroll functions

Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge of Federal and CA State labor, wage and hour, and leave laws
  • Experience with benefits administration including new and open enrollment periods
  • Knowledge of standard human resources concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to apply them to assigned tasks
  • Experience in basic accounting skills
  • Payroll processing experience is a plus
  • Experience with Human Resources/Payroll systems such as ADP
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the ability clearly and briefly communicate across various audience levels
  • Ability to understand, evaluate, and make judgments regarding assigned tasks
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Accountability and integrity, friendly, professional demeanor, ability to get along with people and be a team player
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and to meet established timeframes
  • Good attendance is a requirement of the position
  • Strong active listening skills
