Summary
Serve as an advisor and liaison between human resources, area management, and employees.

Location:
This role is onsite at our HR building in Columbia, SC.

Work Environment:
The work hours are Monday-Friday 8 AM – 5 PM.

Description

What You'll Do:
  • Serve as a consultant to management/employees on various HR-related issues. These include but are not limited to corrective action, terminations, complaints, grievances, investigations, hotline calls, compliance issues, ADA, FMLA, unemployment claims, workers' compensation, performance reviews, compensation, and career counseling.
  • Assist management in creating new or revising existing job descriptions in accordance with established compensation guidelines and procedures. Assists management with questions regarding incentive programs, payroll, and benefits.
  • Assist management in the recruitment/selection process and salary administration process. Prepares/maintains documents to support recruiting activities. Represents corporation at personnel-related functions such as career fairs, advisory committees, and other community outreach programs.
  • Train employees, management, and other HR staff on various. topics. Attend HR-related training to increase HR knowledge.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by HR management. Assists co-workers on projects as needed.
To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need:
Required Work Experience: Two years of professional Human Resources or management experience.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or Four years of Human Resources experience may be substituted for a four-year degree.

  • Consult on all human resources disciplines.
  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Help organize training & development initiatives for human resources programs
  • Conduct investigations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
We prefer that you have:
  • Prior experience working for a company with 500+ employees.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of employee relations, investigations, unemployment hearings, ADA, FMLA, and LOA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with HCM system and Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency with Workday or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
