The City of Richmond is currently seeking a Management Analyst Associate to work in the classification/compensation division.

Duties include but are not limited to

  • Data gathering, data compilation and basic analysis
  • Developing recommendations and reports
  • Coordinating the administrative and procedural aspects of programs or projects to assist senior analytical staff and manager;
  • Serving as a liaison to functions outside of the department, entering and processing transactions
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for information dissemination and data gathering
  • Updating and maintaining data
  • Assisting with the development and editing of policies and procedures, recommending changes, drafting and/or proofreading communications, and ensuring dissemination of same
  • Coordinating program functions and events; and providing technical assistance and training.

Qualifications, Special Certifications and Licenses

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Ability to analyze and aggregate data; analyze and interpret manuals and operating procedures; conduct basic analyses; communicate results of analyses and recommendations professionally and effectively. Skill in proofreading and editing files and documents; maintaining records, data, and other information in department of focus. Knowledge of Human Resource practices and procedures; basic classification and compensation processes.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business/public administration or field related to assignment
  • Two years of paraprofessional experience in area related to assignment, such as assisting with program or project administration and management analysis
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2 years of HR experience, prefer in the field of classification/compensation; other business/office experience will be considered (such as accounting, payroll, data entry, etc)
  • Bachelor’s degree, prefer in the field of HR, Business, Accounting, Public Administration, or other related fields
  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Office products (especially EXCEL)
  • Knowledge of HRIS system (in an Oracle system is a preferred)
