The primary purpose of the role is to enhance internal customer/employee experience with People process to provide a full range of HR services to the business including staffing, compensation, benefits, employee training and development, employee and labor relations, and policy administration. There is a focus on administrative processes based on the current stage in the company’s life cycle, department structure, and system availability. This role will report to the Senior HR Manager for the Western Hemisphere. The HR Specialist will be responsible for providing support to several power plant locations based in the US/Canada.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the HR “business partner” to the facility leadership teams
  • Administer the HR/Employee Change Notice process. Adopt approach to HR Administration, and take “ownership” for HR processes that affect employees such as Payroll and Benefits
  • Assist the compensation process, including developing job descriptions, market data research and analysis, and recommendations for salary increases and bonuses
  • Deliver employee engagement, organizational change management, and structural alignment tactics and programs that support the facility’s growing business portfolio
  • Provide advice and guidance to employees and managers on HR or employee relations issues, ensuring HR policies and management practices comply with regulatory requirements and mitigate EthosEnergy legal exposure. Ensure appropriate and consistent application of operating policies and procedures. Communicate process compliance with regard to business Core Values. Work closely with various managers in instituting values and demonstrated behaviors tied to them
  • Administer the Performance Management process which includes effective usage of the software, standardization, and compliance
  • Manage the Training and Development process for the management staff and provide coaching, training and development opportunities as requested to ensure that appropriate skill sets are maintained and that personnel are qualified as required
  • Recommend and execute HR process improvement initiatives
  • Participate in the development and support of special projects and HR initiatives and programs as assigned
  • The Power Plants that this position will provide support to are geographically spread throughout the US/Canada. Travel estimated between 25% - 35% will be required at times to enhance the plant’s experience with Human Resources and assist with projects/training
  • Special projects as assigned

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software


Experience

  • 3+ years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
  • Manufacturing or heavy machinery industry experience preferred
  • HR experience in a global industry, technology, or related service organization
  • Experience working in a decentralized, matrix environment with limited resources


Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or Business Administration
  • Advance degree preferred
  • HR Certifications preferred


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work remotely in a home office environment
  • Ability to travel 30% - 40% #LI-Remote
