The City of Montrose seeks a motivated and friendly individual to join our HR Team! This position will under general direction, perform human resources activities including recruiting, orientation and onboarding, training, administration of benefits, drug testing program, and employee relations. Functions as the recruiting primary point of contact for the police department, WestCO and seasonal hiring.
The Wage: For this full-time position is $55,524.21 / annually and includes a full benefits package.
Essential Functions:

  • Appropriately assist/guide departments and managers with employee recruitment and selection process.
  • Performs as primary contact for recruitment within Police Department; WestCO Dispatch, and all seasonal positions.
  • Complete job postings, run advertisements, collect applications, and complete applicant information log for positions.
  • Assure background screens are run timely and communicated to the appropriate manager or supervisor for new hires and rehires, including certifications.
  • Administer employee benefits plan, including open and new enrollment to assure proper coverage.
  • Create, update and maintain employee records in the HRIS.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) years of human resources and recruiting experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of current Federal and Colorado personnel laws.
  • Working knowledge of insurance policies.
  • Current Colorado driver’s license with an acceptable record.
