HPC/ML/AI SOC/Platform Validation Lead

THE ORGANIZATION:

Be part of a growing team within AMD that is building GPUs/Accelerated Processors that power the world’s biggest systems used for Machine Learning, HPC, AI, and Cloud Gaming. Our customers include some of the biggest names in the industry and are eager to partner with AMD. This team is also expanding its scope to cover CPUs specially designed for MI/HPC customers. You will take lead on helping to build out our test capability beyond GPUs to CPUs. Work closely with the leadership team to expand the test plans and identify key system level items that are unique to CPU based systems. The team is building new ways of doing both pre-silicon and post-silicon validation to ensure our products are Enterprise Ready.

You will be part of the Graphics Data Center and Accelerated Processing Validation team. We are looking for people with passion, technical experience, and energy to stretch the boundary of testing. THE ROLE:
Technical Leadership role responsible for leading our validation planning and execution of our next generation ML/AI/HPC products. The work will require interlock with other engineering and business teams including SOC Design/Architecture, FW/SW, and Product Management teams. You will own the SOC bring-up and lead the effort across the organization to validate the product and get it ready for production. Role is a large cross-functional role requiring technical depth/breadth and strong leadership skills. The role will reside in the Datacenter Graphics and Accelerated Computing team which is responsible for GPU & CPU Silicon, GPU Boards and System Validation. You will report to the Corporate Vice President of Validation. In addition to test planning and execution, we are seeking a technical leader that can also drive change and innovation to our test capabilities including exercisers, stress, system, and other post-silicon test areas. If you like pushing the envelope of what is possible and collaborate across teams to raise the test bar, you will fit into our future goals. We want people who have system knowledge and experience with highly complex SOC/Systems.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Extensive experience working in Silicon/System hardware validation
• Strong knowledge of silicon/system test methodologies
• Prior experience in pre-silicon testing in DV, Emulation/Simulation a plus
• Experience leading large scale test efforts at a technical and leadership level
• Experience in developing test strategies based on an understanding of silicon/hardware features
• CPU silicon/system experience
• Graphics experience a plus
• Understanding of HW/FW/SW interaction and system-level design
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Demonstrated ability in “showing initiative” to get things done

• Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
