SALARY INFORMATION: $26 per hour/Pay Grade K

Job Responsibilities

Under limited supervision, the Research Assistant will be responsible for assisting in planning, implementing, and evaluating research activities. This position will support grant-specific program activities for Georgia Community-Engagement Research Alliance Against COVID 19 (CEAL), funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) – NIH. Research activities include but are not limited to quantitative and qualitative research and data analysis conducted to understand knowledge, beliefs, and perceived risks of COVID-19 vaccines among diverse populations. A community health worker model will support the recruitment and community engagement efforts in partnership with Morehouse School of Medicine, community partners, and department staff. The community-engagement research aims to help communities disproportionately affected by the pandemic rapidly respond to COVID-19 and alleviate health inequities.

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of a bachelor’s degree in a field related to the area of assignment and three
years’ experience in performing work related to public health, social work, behavioral health, and or health administration.

Additional Information

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: In addition to the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to applicants who possess a master’s degree in public health, health education, community engagement, and community outreach experience. Preference will also be given to candidates with community-based participatory research, program management, evaluation, and health equity experience.
