Job Description

The executive housekeeper manages the performance of housekeeping staff and ensures that the facility is clean and sanitized for all guests.



Essential functions of Complex Executive Housekeeper:

  • Ensure the highest standard of cleanliness and upkeep of guest rooms and public areas.
  • Ensures all operational safety procedures are properly followed.
  • Direct daily activities, plan and assign work ensuring adequate staffing needs.
  • Develop team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback and create performance and development goals for colleagues.
  • Recognize good performance.
  • Train and coach employees in laundry, housekeeping, and lobby housekeeping.
  • Implements and enforces The ABC’s of Housekeeping.
  • Manages customer housekeeping problems.
  • Inspects and approves staff work performance routinely.
  • Demonstrates leadership and training to staff.
  • Develops and trains staff on policy and standard procedures.
  • Order cleaning materials maintaining budget approved by the General Manager.
  • Communicates effectively with all hotel staff.
  • Carries out special requests from guests, VIPs, repeat visitors, and club members.
  • Help guests with their questions and complaints to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
  • Educate and train team members in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and safety regulations.
  • May assist with deep cleaning projects and or assist housekeeping staff during high volume periods.
  • Implementing cost-saving initiatives to maximize productivity and minimize operating costs.
  • Maintain and order supplies and equipment whilst minimizing waste and maintaining “green” initiatives (example: container recycling and cleaning agents)
  • Maintain lost and found log
  • Identify and focus on departmental priorities to maximize associate effectiveness and engagement.
  • Develop talent in a multi-cultural working environment.
  • Ad-hoc duties

Requirements


  • Degree in Hospitality of related field
  • Minimum 5 years in a similar management position.
  • 10+ years of housekeeping experience.
  • Strong training, organizational, multi-tasking and operational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
  • Must possess the basic computational ability.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.

Grooming

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per the specific uniform program.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position; the schedule is based on business needs. Some holidays, weekends, and night shifts may be scheduled for work.

Physical demands

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4-hours in length.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75-lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250-lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
