The Wyndham Garden Hotel in Downtown Norfolk is seeking an Experienced Hotel Front Desk Agent, Part Time & Full Time, who is highly motivated and exudes passion for the hospitality industry. We seek leaders that will attract and inspire associates to cultivate an exceptional guest experience.

  • This position will be approximately 30-40 hours per week and will involve both 7am - 3pm and 3pm - 11pm, If you are not available to work during these hours please DO NOT APPLY.
Our Front Desk Associates are responsible for assisting our guests efficiently, courteously, and professionally in all Front Desk related functions.

OUR EXPECTATIONS:
  • Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times
  • Greet and register guests and provide room assignments accommodating special requests whenever possible
  • Have working knowledge of reservations and procedures, take reservations, and know cancellation procedures
  • Handle guest check-ins and checkouts efficiently and in a friendly and professional manner
  • Ensure that all cash, check and miscellaneous departments are in balance at the end of each shift. Utilize proper cash handling procedures in accordance to company
policy
  • Keep housekeeping informed of any special requests, late checkouts and special need areas in the hotel
  • Receive and transmit mail, phone and written messages for guests
  • Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, shopping, dining entertainment and travel directions
  • Post room charges, food & beverage, and be able to compute & explain guest bills
  • Keep the Front Desk are neat, clean, organized and free of safety hazards
  • Be aware & knowledgeable of Brand Loyalty programs and their benefits
  • Utilize proper phone etiquette
  • Other duties assigned by the supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:
  • COVID-19 vaccination required
  • Flexible availability
  • Guest Service driven
  • Decision making and problem solving skills
  • Previous hotel front desk experience PREFERRED but not REQUIRED
  • Requires high school math level.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the public and other employees.
  • Excellent Guest/Customer Service Skills: Must go above and beyond for guests.
  • Must be proficient with computers.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be dependable.

Rate of Pay: $12 p/hr plus incentives with experience.
