World Relief seeks a creative individual with technical know-how to develop and implement a national host home program that supports and increases safe short-term housing opportunities for displaced immigrant populations. This role provides training, resources, support, and coaching to WR offices managing or implementing a host home program and to the churches and volunteers that are temporarily hosting.

Compensation: $ 50,000 - $55,000 DOE

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Program

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the host home program, which includes the matching of displaced populations in need of temporary housing with vetted host home volunteers in coordination with local WR sites and affiliates
  • Manage host home training and documentation, including impact metrics, keeping up to date with organizational policies and onboarding documents
  • Create and implement program evaluation tools to measure volunteer and participant experience
  • Understand, track, and manage Ambassador activities and OKRs
  • As requested, represent WR at internal and external conferences, meetings, committees and working groups with WR colleagues, national Resettlement Agencies, federal partners and other stakeholders

Field Office Support

  • Directly support local host home programs, providing them with ongoing training, resources, and development opportunities
  • Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinators to train, support, and supervise host home volunteers, matching them with refugees, asylee, or other immigrant participants as temporary guests
  • Perform virtual home assessments and visits in support of local offices.
  • Make virtual host and guest introductions when needed and follow up regularly with WR staff and hosts to ensure ongoing relationships of mutuality and trust
  • Communicate with field offices, referring them to internal or external resources and services, as appropriate
  • Collaborate with other WR offices to stay up to date on host home best practices, training, and story collection by convening host home coordinators on a quarterly basis across the network
  • Collaborate with Initial Resettlement team around best practices and procedures for temporary housing
  • Design and facilitate host home engagement opportunities for churches
  • Develop and launch an ambassador training curriculum in collaboration with The Workshop team
  • Provide training sessions to hosts, staff, and populations paired with hosts, to assist with cultural sensitivity, removing stability barriers, problem-solving, networking and advocacy.
  • Participate in special projects, as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Familiar with refugee resettlement ideas and terminology preferred
  • History of involvement with volunteerism or non-profit work experience
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office 365 software
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and organize in a fast paced and fluid environment
  • Experience working for World Relief and familiarity with World Relief interfaces preferred
  • Experience with cross-cultural training preferred
  • Cross-cultural experience preferred
  • Able to do up to 15% domestic travel
  • Ability to manage timelines independently and effectively, and manage multiple projects

  • Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in skype meetings may be required
  • Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending
