Seaside Health System is seeking a Hospital Receptionist-Intake Clerk at our Baton Rouge Inpatient Hospital. Successful candidate who values clinical excellence, integrity and treating patients and colleagues with dignity and respect.
- AM/PM Weekday & Weekend positions available.
- Must be able to work a Weekend/Weekday rotation

Responsibilities may include:
- Answering, forwarding, and screening phone calls
- Computer skills
- Meeting and greeting visitors
- Sorting and distributing mail
- Gather information about incoming admits and create patient records
- Provide clerical support to other Intake personnel
- Ensuring availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient information
- Verify insurance information
Requirements:
- Some college experience preferred, but not required.
- Phone etiquette.
- Capable to use medical software, medical terminology, and medical office procedures.
- One year or more work experience in a psych/mental health/behavioral health facility or hospital preferred.
- Active listening skills and empathy for patients.
- Mature, professional, and positive attitude.
- Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to set boundaries, use and interpret nonverbal ques.
- Emotional Intelligence including the ability to manage stress and anxiety, knows when to ask for help and how to be a reliable colleague.
- Critical thinking including the ability to implement interventions that are proven to result in a positive outcome for patients.
