Job Summary

Under the indirect supervision of the CEO, the Head of Operations collaborates with leadership throughout the organization on maintaining consistent and clear operational support to meet the demands of all consumer channels. They are a leader in the organization, diving into how and why, reviewing data, making connections, and proposing recommendations to achieve business goals and execute consumer needs. This position is located primarily in the Auburn, WA plant, and will be expected to travel to our Monterey Park, CA plant.

As Our Head of Operations, You Will Be Expected To:

• Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the operations teams
• Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems
• Maintains full integrity of all revenues, ensuring organization policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations, are followed
• Oversees capital assets projects, ensuring organizational goals are being met.
• Compiles fiscal estimates and prepares fiscal reports
• Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
• Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organizations business plan and vision
• Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution
• Reviews and approves cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for operational projects
• Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the chief executive officer and other leadership
• Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management
• Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided
• Within the first 30 days, the Head of Operations will be up to speed on all functions at the XCJ. Within the first 60 days, they will understand the infrastructure, how communication is taking place, and the various consumer channels. Within the first 90 days they will begin to make crucial operational recommendations
• Position is required to travel 10% - 20% of the time
• Position is required to be onsite at least 90% of the time
• Perform Manager Duties:
  • Recruiting and interviewing
  • Ensures supervisors manage their teams efficiently and in accordance with departmental goals and XCJ's OKRs
  • Meets with direct reports on a regular basis and conducts performance evaluations
• Other duties as assigned

You Should Be Someone With:

• Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
• Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong leadership skills and emotional intelligence. Serves as a coach and mentor to others and providing development opportunities and creating a best in class environment
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Google Suite, MS Office, and ERP software
• Experience using collaboration software and tools (such as: slack, notion, asana)

You Should Have:

• Experience in frozen food production environments is highly desirable. Hands on consumer goods experience is required
• 12-15 years progressive experience
• 7 years minimum experience working with financial models, bills of materials (BOMs), forecasting, and both short and long term strategic planning
• Minimum 7 years managerial experience
• Bachelors in business administration, finance, or relevant fields. MBA highly desired
