Dog U in Vestavia Hills, Alabama is currently seeking full-time/part-time Play Staff members to join our fun, friendly team dedicated to high-quality customer service. Our ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for interacting with animals. A typical day in the life of a Play Staff member includes:

• Escorting dogs to and from kennels and to and from the play yard

• Interacting with receptionists, veterinary staff, and clients

• Maintaining a clean work space by cleaning kennels and/or play yard

• Supervising dog play groups

• Interacting with dogs and puppies

Preferred qualities of the Play Staff member position include:

• Ability to work in different types of weather (e.g., rain, heat, cold)

• Ability to stand for long periods of time

• Ability to put forth a positive, professional attitude

• Skill in observing and monitoring the environment

• Skill in actively looking for ways to help coworkers, dogs

The Play Staff member at Dog U is the perfect position for anyone interested in working with dogs. The person in this position may have the opportunity to be promoted into a higher-level position over time. Dog U is a locally owned dog training, daycare, and boarding facility. Its mission is to make good dogs great, and to care for the clients and pets that come through its doors as family. Dog U shares a building with its sister company, Cahaba Mountain Brook Animal Clinic, a veterinary clinic which has been a part of the Vestavia Hills community since 1968. Cahaba Mountain Brook Animal Clinic is dedicated to helping families and their pets enjoy a lifetime together, through pet healthcare and grooming.
