Hampton Roads Human Trafficking Job at Virginia Attorney General
The Coordinator will be the lead project manager shepherding the completion of the work required of the Hampton Roads Human Trafficking Task Force; work closely with all members of the Task Force as well as the Samaritan House HT Grant Coordinator; plan and staff all Task Force and Subcommittee meetings with input from committee chairs, develop working documents for comment, keep minutes, and serve as the central repository for Task Force information. The Coordinator will plan and execute required training plans and work with project evaluators to obtain needed information; act as a liaison between victim service providers and law enforcement partners to ensure the seamless coordination of care for human trafficking survivors and effective investigations and prosecutions; research best practices for services and care for human trafficking survivors, including trauma-informed protocols and case management; research best practices on law enforcement protocols for proactive investigations and victim-centered responses; provide support to HR Task Force members in implementing protocols and training; assist with requests for development and coordination of training; serve as community liaison by partnering service providers, businesses, schools, and community groups for outreach purposes; coordinate efforts to better inform and educate the Hampton Roads area about the prevalence, scope, and nature of human trafficking within the region and the collaborative efforts of social service providers and law enforcement to care for human trafficking victims; organize best practice trainings for service providers, law enforcement agencies, and other key stakeholders on human trafficking identification, investigation, and service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services or Criminal Justice subject area and three or more years of experience. Applicants must possess group facilitation skills and strong collaboration skills and have the ability to develop coalitions and form partnerships. Candidates should have experience working with local law enforcement, prosecutors, and victim witness programs. Extensive knowledge of victim-centered, trauma informed investigations, prosecutions, and services and knowledge of the intersection between victims and the criminal justice system along with a detailed understanding of the criminal justice system’s response to human trafficking are required. Candidates must possess a demonstrated ability to set and meet goals, have experience in meeting milestones and timely completion of deliverables and have advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments. Applicants should have experience with reaching and working with underserved populations. Candidates must have demonstrated computer proficiency with word processing and data entry (Microsoft products preferred).

Experience in working with victims of human trafficking is preferred.
