BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Researches and makes recommendations on funding opportunities to support the organization’s strategic and operational goals. Works closely with business units to secure needed resources and to comply with requirements of funding opportunities. Prepares competitive proposals and grant applications with attention to our GECU and member story. Follows established critical path.

TYPICAL DUTIES
Researches, identifies, and responds to public and private grant opportunities aligned with credit union’s vision and credit union development opportunities through public and private sources.

Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, plan, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources.

Analyzes dollars awarded, scoring matrices for approved and declined applications, and content of competitive applications. Responsible for improving approval and dollars awarded rate.

Responsible for researching community needs and funding opportunities and making recommendations on funding in our entire field of membership based on GECU’s annual strategic plan and organizational goals.

Performs cost analysis to perform grant and develops outcome statement to show impact of grant to our community and organization. Utilizes data and trends to develop strategic plan and recommendations for future funding.

Responsible for making recommendations on programs continuation after expending funding based on data and analysis.

Assists with the preparation of reports for funders, including periodic and year-end reports. Reconciles variances and provides detailed explanations on deficiencies and solutions to comply with Agreements.

Ensures The Fund’s Award Management Information System (AMIS) is up-to-date. Has a thorough understanding of financial reports, Call Reports and other systems such as Sam.gov.

Understands GECU’s certifications, including but not limited to CDFI, low-income designation, minority depository institution and others. Utilizes certifications to leverage and apply for funds relevant to the certifications.

Collaborates with team and other business units to ensure success with numerous audits throughout the year.

Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU’s established policies, procedures and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).

Other duties as may be assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the credit union.

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, English, Technical Writing, Rhetoric/Writing Studies or related field or three (3) – five (5) years of experience in related field with a proven record.

Knowledge of GECU, HOAP, and GECU Foundation policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements is required.

Knowledge of local, state, and federal grant procurement policies and programs.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposal.

Effective leadership and people skills.

High scanning ability and mental alertness.

Good communication and organizational skills.

Must be able to work with numerous interruptions.

Ability and flexibility to multi-task, prioritize, and organize multiple projects/tasks concurrently while meeting established deadlines.

Ability to work well under pressure, display a genuine concern and professional attitude toward members and employees.

Assertive, resourceful self-starter with analytical, troubleshooting skills; can understand and express appropriate levels of urgency using good oral and written communication skills.

Good judgment skills.

Member focused with exceptional follow-up and attention to detail.

High degree of integrity and respect for confidentiality and privacy of information is required.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Requires sitting for the majority of the day, lifting up to 20 pounds, bending, squatting, climbing, twisting, and kneeling occasionally; reaching above and below shoulder level frequently.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
Providing quality service is the primary responsibility of this position. Quality service means treating members and coworkers with respect and courtesy at all levels whether in person or by telephone as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Availability Requirements: Monday- Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Pay: $54,392.00 - $76,783.00 per year
