Graduate Nurse Residency Program (Mental Health)
Are you a new RN looking for a mental health position? Brook Lane's Graduate Nurse Residency Program is designed for new RN graduates. The program will bridge the gap between academic and service settings, and prepares you to manage patients in the psychiatric care setting. Brook Lane Health Services is a leading provider of mental health treatment and education in the region.
Program start date is February 6, 2023.

Description of the program: *
- Residency Program is 12 weeks in length.
- Classes, led by the Clinical Educator, provide in-depth learning on various mental health topics such as psychopharmacology and various diagnoses
- Program provides individual support, training on leadership skills and time management, and detailed information on safety measures when caring for patients with mental health
- Learning methods consist of discussion, scenario based simulation, real time skills practice, preceptorship, and electronic health record training
- Residents are trained so they can meet criteria for all inpatient nursing skills
- Participation in influenza vaccination clinics, skills fairs, and nurse-led patient education groups on topics such as medications, relaxation, wellness, and management of their illness

Qualifications to apply for the program: *
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or Multi-state Compact license required
- 3 references
- Resident Nurses commit to work at Brook Lane for one year following the completion of the Nurse Residency Program
