Department: Golf Position: Golf Caddie

FLSA Status: Non - Exempt

Job Overview: Golf caddies are responsible for carrying golfers’ bags and keeping them organized during a round of golf. They help their golfer find the right clubs, clean balls off the tee, and keep an eye on the flagstick to make sure it doesn’t fall into the hole while the golfer is taking his or her shot.

Reports to: Outside Service Supervisor, Lead, Head Golf Pro, and/or Assistant Golf Pro

Supervises: None

Key Relationships:

Internal: Management team & Team members and everyone involved in the operation.

External: New team members, Members, Vendors, Supporting businesses, Hospitality associations, and everyone involved in the operation.

Qualifications/Skills:

Essential:

• Prior experience (Preferable but not necessary)
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal staff, members, and vendors
• Excellent organization and relationship building
• Must possess a professional demeanor and be a proactive self-starter
• Quick evaluation and decision making
• Strong comprehension of the English language (oral & written)
• Energetic and positive work ethic
• Able to work efficiently and effectively with little or no supervision.

Essential Physical Abilities:

• Regularly required to talk or hear
• Frequently required to reach with hands, arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and/or crawl.
• Occasionally required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and climb or balance.
• Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to be able to grasp, load, and carry trays.
• Ability to endure repetitive motions for extended periods of time.

Work Characteristics:

• May be required to work occasional weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed to support Club special events
• Must be able to work in and be able to maintain organization and a positive attitude

Essential Job Functions:

• Making sure that the player has all his equipment and that it is in good working order
• Collecting scorecards from players at the end of each hole and recording them in a log book
• Keeping track of the score and announcing it to other players on the course when requested
• Making sure the player has a good lie and that the ball is positioned properly for the next stroke
• Assisting in keeping score by marking each stroke on a scorecard using pencils or electronic devices
• Helping with club selection based on the player’s skill level and the course conditions
• Carrying extra clubs and balls during the round in case one is lost or broken
• Offering advice on course strategy and etiquette to improve performance
• Providing assistance with putting, chipping, pitching, and sand shots when needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

• Monday to Friday
• On call
• Weekend availability
