About the role

We are seeking a talented Controller. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for accounting, statutory reporting, global tax, payroll operations, and the design and maintenance of adequate systems and controls. This position is highly visible in the organization and the ideal candidate is entrepreneurial in spirit and both hands-on and strategic.

  • Provide leadership and strategic insight on accounting and compliance
  • Build and manage a world-class corporate accounting team responsible for all general ledger, consolidation, technical accounting, tax, cash management and revenue recognition activities
  • Provide technical guidance across the business including communication / clarification of new laws and regulations related to GAAP, Tax, and Statutory reporting
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on a specific accounting policy or policies, providing business support on their interpretation and application
  • Manage external auditor relationships to facilitate completion of audit procedures in a timely and efficient manner
  • Identify opportunities and drive projects to improve business processes and business support
  • Establish, implement, manage, and monitor critical accounting and reporting policies, processes and associated metrics
  • Direct the tax strategy, planning and minimize the business's tax burden, while complying fully with the laws of all relevant (global) jurisdictions
  • Serve as the Company's expert on accounting matters, partnering with other departments (sales, marketing, and engineering) on accounting-related questions and initiatives
  • Drive timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Manage the set up and management of new international entities and related international corporate structures and compliance
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 15+ years' experience
  • CPA required
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge and skills with key accounting systems including Quickbooks, Netsuite, Bill.com, and Expensify
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP with expertise in internal controls and technical accounting, particularly software license revenue recognition
  • Familiarity with local, state, federal, and international tax regulation
  • Experience with managing international entities
  • Ability to explain financial issues or concepts to non-financial audience
  • Exceptionally strong judgement and integrity
  • Self-starter, detail oriented and efficient
  • Finance leadership experience in a complex multinational organization
  • Exceptional team leadership skills

  • Competitive Compensation. For this role our base salary is targeted at $175,000 -$210,000 per year. Final offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience and expertise. We take a geo neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location.

  • 30 min interview with a member of our Talent Team
  • 45 minute zoom interview with the Hiring Manager
  • Four video interviews with several team members (HR, Business Ops, Finance)
  • Final interviews with the team manager and a backend peer - 1 hour
