Key Responsibilities

• Provide mapping, reports, analysis, data, products, database development, and Geographic Information System (GIS) data organization
• Updating and maintaining computer-generated data, mapping systems, and a project database on a regular basis to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of information
• Creation and administration of GIS web maps
• Automation of GIS processes via Python
• Design of GIS maps for visual clarity
• Incorporate electronic information from databases, mapping systems, and telemetry systems into working documents, maps, and control systems
• Data cleaning and data management methods for large and small datasets
• ETL (Extract, transform, load) tasks involving data from various sources and applications
• Data analysis and manipulation
• Creation of data reports using Excel and other tools
• Input of modeling data into various engineering software applications, via manual & automated methods
• Development of automated methods for importing, exporting, manipulating, and reporting data in various engineering software applications.
• New user laptop setup
• Continuous improvement of job-related tasks and processes, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience
• B.S. in Geographic Information Systems or a related field
• Experience with and understanding of GIS
• Proficiency with the ArcGIS suite of products
• Proficiency with Python in GIS applications, i.e. PyGIS.
• Knowledge of database functionality and basic proficiency in SQL
• Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Excel, and the full Office suite
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work remotely without supervision

Desired or Preferred Skills

• Experience with QGIS
• Proficiency in other languages such as VBA or C#
• Knowledge of database design and application design principles
• Previous experience working with electric utilities is a plus
• Advanced user of Microsoft products, specifically Excel, Word, and/or Access
• Ability to plan and manage assignments and clearly communicate barriers to completion of tasks on budget/schedule
• Use computer software tools to model engineering problems, program automation systems, prepare spreadsheet-based analyses and automation

Salary and benefits are negotiable based on experience.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
