This position is responsible for providing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) support for ENGIE North America’s grid-scale renewables development platform. ENGIE is seeking a self-motivated individual capable of working within a fast-paced, growing organization. The candidate will support and lead a variety of activities related to wind, solar, and battery storage project development across North America. A broad set of skills is required for this position, but specialized knowledge in GIS and database management paired with an eagerness to learn will provide a solid foundation for success.


What you’ll do:

Cartography and Spatial Analyses


  • Provide mapping support for all wind, solar, and battery storage project development activities
  • Generate parcel legal descriptions and exhibits to support agreement development
  • Run buildable area models for wind, solar, and battery storage preliminary site development and to confirm compliance at later stages
  • Clearly document and communicate assumptions with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with project developers and land agents in coordination of land acquisition and wind turbine, solar array, and battery storage siting efforts
  • Provide insight, feedback, reporting, analysis, and decision-support skills to the project team using geospatial tools

Database Management

  • Maintain geospatial databases with careful attention to detail and metadata tracking
  • Accurately research, gather, develop, maintain, and analyze project spatial data
  • Follow and update/maintain documentation for best practices and standard operating procedures

Web and Mobile Mapping

  • Develop new geospatial tools and dashboards to assist with mapping, GIS analysis, and grid-scale energy project development
  • Maintain and improve mobile mapping application to support project development and engineering (ArcGIS Field Maps)
  • Aid in the improvement and evolution of an advanced Esri ArcGIS Enterprise mapping platform
  • Carry out other duties as assigned

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s required or Master’s degree preferred in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, engineering, or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro software
  • Experience using ESRI ArcGIS Pro software packages
  • Excellent map and data interpretation skills
  • Background working with ArcGIS Enterprise tools, including ArcGIS Portal as well as SDE and SQL Server databases is preferred
  • Programming experience (HTML, JavaScript, Python, SQL) a plus
  • Experience with ArcGIS Web AppBuilder for Developers a plus
  • AutoCAD experience a plus
  • Interest and willingness to assist with non-GIS related activities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to shift focus quickly and efficiently between varying priorities

Additional Information/Conditions:

  • For this position, you must have evidence of right to work in the U.S. There is no employer sponsorship of U.S. residency or work authorization with this role
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.
  • Could involve some lifting
  • Ability to travel to conduct site visits
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time; most of the work for this position will be at a desk

Colorado:
The position offers an annual salary range of $59,000 to $98,000 with competitive benefits and is bonus eligible. Any extended offer will be based on the applicant’s experience.
