Summary:


The Gift Shop Operator will work closely with the Gift Shop Lead(s) and Gift Shop Manager to ensure the gift shops operate smoothly. This will include providing exceptional customer service, assisting in product check in and helping display merchandise.

D emonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.


Responsibilities:


Multi tasks, recognize and efficiently manage stressful situations in an empathetic and compassionate fashion.
R equired to travel between campuses as necessary to attend meetings, assure coverage or for the purpose of staff development as deemed appropriate by management.
C heck in and mark merchandise.
R esponsible for covering shifts when substitutes are not available.
R estock merchandise.
A ssist Lead with merchandising efforts and gift shop displays.
A ssist in training new volunteers at all three locations.
R oute merchandise to various locations.
P romotes atmosphere of enthusiasm and pride amongst gift shop personnel.
A ccurately directs patients, visitors, and all other Covenant customers to the appropriate area of service.
O ther duties as assigned.


Other information:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
H igh School Diploma or GED required.
R etail experience preferred.

K NOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
K nowledge of standard office equipment.
E xcellent interpersonal skills consistent with teamwork, patient consideration, and cooperation are required.
E xcellent oral and written communication skills.
D emonstrates organizational skills.
G ood clerical skills.
S ound judgement in handling confidential or sensitive issues and materials.
A bility to multi task.
D emonstrates ability to interact with hospital patients and their families.

W ORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
A bility to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
F requent standing, walking, twisting, reaching, handling, and feeling.
F requent talking, hearing, near vision, midrange vision, far vision, depth perception, visual accommodation, color vision and field of vision.
O ccasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
O ccasional sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
O ccasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and squatting.
