Responsible for basic maintenance duties such as painting, minor repairs, snow removal, grounds care, facility set up, as well as bulb and ballast changes. In the absence of the primary custodian, may also be responsible for custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, dusting, and window cleaning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS in addition to current job description include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Maintenance duties include painting, minor repairs, snow removal, grounds care, facility set-up, as well as bulb and ballast changes.
  • In absence of primary custodian, this position will be responsible for sweeping, mopping, trash removal, dusting, window cleaning and all other general cleaning duties.

Pools

  • Order and make sure there are sufficient chemicals for pool operations including but not limited to chlorine, acid, thiosulfate, bicarb, etc. This does not include test chemicals for Lifeguards to check pool chemistry.
  • Maintain proper chemistry in all pools and make corrections as necessary using Lifeguard input and self-testing.
  • Maintain log of all chemical additions and procedures as completed.
  • Responsible for annual draining and refilling of pools. Aquatics department will be in charge of cleaning pools during annual draining.
  • In conjunction with the Aquatics Director, identify any major/minor repairs to be done during annual shutdown. Attaining approval for major repairs will be the responsibility of the Aquatics Director.
  • Assist with troubleshooting any problems that the Aquatics department cannot easily resolve.
  • Responsible for making sure enough backup parts are on hand to maintain operations including but not limited to spare diastolic pumps, tubing, valves, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months related experience required.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Basic mechanical abilities.
  • Demostrated experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals and instructions.
