- Supervises & assists in the performance of maintenance and preventative of electrical fire alarms, CCTV, electronic security PA, intercom and high voltage distribution systems and equipment.
- Reads blueprints and wiring diagrams and makes material take-offs.
- Requisitions materials and need parts.
- Ensures completion of installation/repairs.
- Makes emergency repairs to electrical system and equipment.
- Performs on-the-job training of inmates.
- Participates in on-call rotation.
Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in construction or repair of secondary electrical systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.
SCDC Minimum Requirements: (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources)
- A High School diploma.
- Five (5) years experience.
