Job Description
How You Will Make An Impact
thredUP is looking for a highly qualified and detail-oriented General Ledger Accountant to join our team and help support our rapid and sustained growth. You will be responsible for performing journal entries, reconciling, and analyzing various balance sheet and P&L accounts, ensuring transactions are correctly processed and reported in our financial systems. You will also work with our auditors to support quarterly reviews and year-end audits.

A thredUP General Ledger Accountant is someone who has outstanding problem-solving skills and enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced, high-growth environment.
In This Role You’ll Get To:
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for cash, investment, debt, equity, payroll, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and expense accruals
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations for month-end close
  • Investigate Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss fluctuation, documenting drivers of monthly and quarterly balance changes
  • Collaborate with Finance and relevant business partners to ensure timely completion of tasks and accurate financial statements
  • Ensure procedures are performed in compliance with thredUP’s SOX internal controls
  • Support external auditors in quarter review/year-end audit procedures, including sampling requests and tie-outs of financial reports
  • Engage in ad-hoc projects, external reporting and other tasks as necessary
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education in accounting or finance (or related degree)
  • Public accounting and/or NetSuite experience a plus!
  • Attention to detail and commitment to preparing high quality deliverables
  • Ability to balance/prioritize multiple tasks to meet team goals and deadlines
  • Proactive self-starter with strong time-management and organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • A strong curiosity and a resolute mindset toward continuous process improvement with the ability to innovate and simplify both finance and operational processes
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
At thredUP, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $ 62,000 and $106,000 and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Many thredUP employees also have the opportunity to own shares of thredUP stock. thredUP employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, as well as a discount when purchasing thredUP stock if voluntarily participating in thredUP’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Subject to eligibility requirements, you’ll also receive other benefits: Comprehensive medical & dental coverage, vision, 401k, life and disability insurance.
