Private estate looking to hire gardener to add to our ornamental maintenance team.
We are looking for two candidates:
- One part-time, 3 days per week, very flexible on which days
- One full-time, 40+ hours per week, some flexibility on which days
Duties include all usual gardening tasks such as: weeding, watering, deadheading, staking, transplanting perennials and small shrubs, pruning, fertilizing/amending, keeping grounds and hardscape clean, sharpening tools, etc.
Skills such as small irrigation repairs, plant identification, specialty pruning and such would be beneficial.
No very heavy work involved, but the grounds are extensive and the gardener must be able to comfortably walk 15k steps while pulling carts, carrying small barrels, ladders, etc. Must be willing to work in inclement weather (within reason), in the presence of honeybees and wasps, biting insects, etc.
Must have own, reliable transportation, be dependable, have good references, and pass a background check.
We're willing to train the right person, but experience in professional gardening is a plus.

While we are all plant people here, candidate must also have people skills. Please bring a passion for gardening or a desire to learn, a good attitude, and a solid work ethic.

Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
