JOB SUMMARY

Perform client transactions and service requests while exemplifying JBT’s SMILE Standards. Know and comply with laws, regulations, and bank policies and procedures. This position serves as the primary “touch point” between JBT and our clients. The Community Banker I is the back up to both the Branch Team Leader and the Community Banker II.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide SMILE Standards service at all times and actively seek out and meet their banking need
  • Consistently deliver high quality JBT service in person, through the drive-up, over the telephone and during community events.
  • Have expert level product knowledge related to all branch accounts and services and use this knowledge to broaden and deepen relationships though proactive conversations. Be able to refer clients for non-branch related services (Merchant, JBTFS, Commercial, etc.)
  • Ability to answer clients FAQ’s about, but not limited to, Online Banking, Online Bill Pay, Bank to Bank Transfers, Person to Person Payment, Debit and ATM cards, eStatements, ACH transactions and account posting and all other eBanking functions
  • Adhere to the Bank’s dress code standards
  • Complete assigned BVS courses.
  • Accurately, efficiently, and promptly perform customer transactions (including those received by mail or night deposit): cashing checks, deposits, withdrawals, selling of monetary instruments, loan payments, club payments, etc.
  • Balance cash drawer/debits and credits accurately and in a timely manner using the Vertex Teller system
  • Maintain an orderly cash drawer within the Bank’s approved cash limit
  • Respect the confidentiality of information obtained through or as a consequence of employment
  • Actively utilize CallTrax to enhance client experience
  • Routinely incorporate compliance (knowledge of laws/regulations) in day-to-day tasks
  • Operate and answer the telephone in a professional manner
  • Perform related duties as assigned including, but not limited to, client access to SDB area, balancing the ATM, Vault, TCR, and Cash totals
  • Ability to complete forms found on the intranet
  • Ensure punctual and regular attendance
  • Assist BTL to complete weekly CTR reports, scheduling, coaching, provide over-rides.
  • Handle Fed ordering and shipping
  • Order supplies, daily branch balancing, monthly security audit functions and other operational functions as assigned
  • Broad knowledge of branch emergency procedures, place account holds per Reg. CC
  • Handle disputes per Reg. E, place stop payments
  • Open new accounts (checking, savings, CDs, CDARS, IRAs), do maintenance on existing accounts, creating CIFs and maintenance on existing CIF’s
  • Maintain proper follow-up with clients, actively seek out calling opportunities, have a working knowledge of SDB policy, ability to complete *MO (stop payments, AFT’s, etc.) and *MD (holds, indemnity bonds, debit card applications, etc.) items in streamline, process credit card applications through Elan
  • All other duties as assigned
Requirements:

SKILLS

  • Ability to operate the Jack Henry Systems (Vertex Teller Capture, CIF 20/20, Streamline), Synergy, 4Sight, CallTrax, TCR, Report manager, Fedline, Elan and other branch systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient mathematics skills
  • Ability to operate the following office equipment: computer, adding machine, typewriter, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, TCR
  • Ability to lift approximately 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
