WHAT YOU WILL DO
This is a freelance position responsible for supporting the engineering needs of a complex studio facility of an established corporate client. This role will partner with our onsite engineering lead, our client, and production teams in maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting all aspects of the studio equipment and video production technology to best support the client’s needs. Duties will include assisting and participating in the studio productions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Setup and configure all necessary control room and studio elements to ensure successful productions.
- Troubleshoot, manage, and maintain all studio related equipment.
- Follow SOP instructions for operation of studio and control room equipment and provide support to production staff and freelancers.
- Fill production role(s) on webcasts and digital productions as needed.
- Support and operation of transmission and acquisition technologies including, streaming encoders, Enhanced IP, fiber, and video conferencing equipment (or equivalent software i.e. Teams, Zoom, etc.)
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-have skills & job qualifications
- Experience with Ross Video product suite including Ultrix, Carbonite, XPression, and Acuity
- Knowledge of Dante routing, and experience Yamaha consoles
- Knowledge and experience in PTZ cameras and camera control
- Experience with green screen and virtual set technology
- Understanding of signal flow in a digital broadcast environment
- Proficient in all industry standard web streaming and encoding platforms and software
- Experience in working with LAN/WAN networking and switches
- Skills in both traditional television broadcast and IT equipment installation, and trouble shooting
- Strong client communication skills
Must-have skills & job qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in the area of production, broadcast, webcasting, events or similar field
- Track record of being organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and working well in a team atmosphere as well as having the capability to work well individually, is essential
- Strong work ethic, self-direction, self-motivation, patience, persistence, and the ability to get along with coworkers and customers
- Mature judgment to make sound decisions based on objective evidence, customer, and VideoLink needs
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including necessary paper and/or computer documentation
- Self-motivated, organized, and resourceful with strong work ethic
