Richard Bland College of William & Mary is seeking three motivated team members to work in the Food Service Department. The incumbents will prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner for up to 1,000 guests daily; open kitchen, set up equipment, prepare cafeteria for service. Ensure cleaning and sanitization of all workspaces, equipment, and utensils. Properly maintain all equipment; sweep and mop floors, clean common spaces, and ensure a safe and tidy dining room area. Collaborate with other food service workers, college officials and staff to identify and correct problems. Prepare or service catering and other special events as needed. The incumbent will be required to open and close the cafeteria on weekdays /weekends. Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is a part-time wage position. As a wage employee, hours worked may not exceed 29 hours a week on average.

Minimum Qualifications
Must have experience in restaurant operations and applications supporting high food quality. Considerable knowledge of a food preparation operation, including the operation of modern food service equipment, proper sanitation practices and federal and state health and nutrition requirements. Must have the ability to apply the principals and practice of safely serving food, and the ability to work cooperatively with students, faculty, staff, coworkers, vendors and the general public with courtesy, tact, patience and consistency. Must have strong oral communication skills, and must be available to work a flexible schedule. Must display pride in performance and work with a deliberate sense of urgency.

Preferred Qualifications
ServSafe Certification. The ability to independently read and comprehend instructions and recipes and the ability to independently solve practical problems. Has a coachable skill-set with the ability to help teach and enable other team members.
