Under the direction of the Preschool Program Director, the Food Service Dietician will be primarily responsible for supporting the branch early learning program(s).
The YMCA Paulding Early Learning Center is located in Hiram, GA. This facility has Head Start, Georgia Pre-k, and Child Care programs.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School diploma
  • Prior experience in food service industry
  • A working knowledge of computers: MS Word, MS Excel, data base management.
  • Exemplify YMCA ideals, leadership qualities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve and possess effective time management skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Pass a criminal background and drug screening check
  • Pass a Motor Vehicles Record and have own transportation
  • CPR within 30 days of employment and maintain throughout employment
Responsibilities:
  • Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibility.
  • Stay updated on current issues regarding food nutrition programs.
  • Promote, monitor, evaluate and ensure that all Early Learning programs run smoothly with a high level of service to participants.
  • Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse and Neglect, Bloodborne Pathogens, Metro Atlanta. YMCA New Staff Orientation, and Bright from the Start Continuing Education Credits.
  • This position must perform duties in accordance with the policies, goals, mission, values and objectives established by the Metropolitan Atlanta YMCA, Paulding County Early Learning Center, Safety Protocols Including COVID, and any Non-Negotiables.
  • Assist as needed in all aspects of the YMCA and its community.
  • Responsible for maintaining and reporting incident/accident paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Critical competencies based on needs specific to role:
Prepares food purchases according to planned menus, CACFP/USDA requirements and the number of children/adults to be served.
Inventory branch food orders from vendors and check each order to ensure quality products.
Properly store all products according to Health Service standards.
Keeps accurate record of invoices for each delivery.
Keep accurate daily counts on all meals served to children and adults.
Serve meals according to meal time schedule.
Attend mandated training as required by the program
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the food service area.
Wear mandated apron/or smock, hair net, manicured short nails free of polish and gloves when handling food products.
Clean dishes and all food prep areas.
Work with our lead dietician to complete all assigned task.
