Job Summary

West Kentucky Community & Technical College (WKCTC), recognized as a top 10 community college in the nation by The Aspen Institute five consecutive times and twice as a Finalist with Distinction, invites applications for the position of Food Service Coordinator. WKCTC is a comprehensive community college that provides excellence in teaching a learning, promotes student success, and supports economic development.

Job Duties:

Oversee and assist in food preparation for cafe customers and catering events.

Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards.

Ensure adequacy of supplies at the cooking stations and events.

Prepare ingredients that should be frequently available.

Follow the guidance of the Campus Dining Director and have input in presentation, dishes, and menus.

Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.

Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.

Supervise Food Service Staff.

Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.

Prepare food and event set up for catering and special events that can and will fall outside of normal operating hours.

Balance cash from the register and submit to the business office.


Minimum Qualifications:

Servsafe Certification or equivalent (or knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures and willingness to gain certification)

Excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes

Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs.

Must be able to multitask and work in a high pressure environment

Ability to lead team members. Good communication skills.

Comfortable working with customers, taking orders, catering events, etc

Problem solving skills.
