Position Summary:

Responsible for preparation, cooking, and packaging of food. Assists with overseeing the Food Service Assistants.

Essential Functions:

1. Orders, prepares, cooks, and packages food.

2. In conjunction with Director, recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Assists with reviewing and evaluating staff performance. In conjunction with Director, develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.

3. Maintains inventory system and appropriate storage of food and food service equipment.

4. Ensures that food is properly prepared following Serve Safe methods, is quality assured, and distributed in a professional and efficient manner.

5. Maintains a high level of cleanliness, ensuring kitchen and dining areas are exceptionally clean, sanitized and organized.

6. Assists with menus and events as requested.

7. Assures compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that safety and appropriate food handling procedures are followed.

8. Models and maintains a positive, professional, and customer service environment.

9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum age of 21.

2. High school diploma/GED required.

3. Minimum 1 year experience in food service preparation and delivery.

4. Proficiency in using kitchen appliances and equipment.

5. Excellent human relation skills, good organizational and communication skills.

6. Serve Safe Certification required.

7. CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 30 days of hire date.

Physical Demands:

Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
