Food & Beverage Manager Position Overview

The Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for the dining programs and all food and beverage services within the Club’s five dining venues. The candidate must be an exceptional communicator who can instill “The Merion Cricket Service Culture” while effectively executing and leading a service team to provide world-class member experiences that is the Club’s hallmark. Merion has an experienced and collaborative management team with a commitment to professional development.

Merion recently completed a $25 million Campus Master Plan which significantly enhanced the Club’s facilities and programs. While Merion boasts world-class athletic and recreational facilities, the Club’s restaurants remain the backbone of member engagement. The dining program consists of five ala carte restaurants (including seasonal venues) and a catering facility capable of hosting 350 seated guests. The Club routinely serves 400 dinners across all of its restaurants to a highly engaged membership.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Hires, trains and supervises direct subordinates
  • Applies relevant service excellence standards to assure that the expectations of Club members and guests are consistently exceeded.
  • Plans, implements and monitors departmental budgets.
  • Creation and execution of all food and beverage special events as well as overseeing all dining communications to the membership.

The Food and Beverage Manager plays an integral role in Clubhouse operations and this positon represents a wonderful opportunity for growth within the private club industry.

  • Recruiting, onboarding and scheduling service staff
  • Train all food and beverage employees and maintain the Club’s standards of excellence
  • Point-of-sale systems – Jonas software experience considered a plus
  • Tech-savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Effective and professional communication through all department levels and throughout the Club
  • Contagious passion pertaining to food & beverages
  • Commitment to growth with an insatiable hunger for learning and teaching
  • Marketing and promotions

Salary & Benefits

The Merion Cricket Club will offer compensation appropriate for any combination of accreditation and experience in accordance with a $5.5 million F&B program. Benefits include health, dental and life insurance; 401(k) with matching contribution; paid-time off; continuing education, CMAA dues and fees.
