Join our Crew and work with us at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk! (For those interested in more work opportunities, we also have shifts available at the Kaiser Permanente Arena for those who are 18 years of age and up!) We are currently hiring for food service positions to serve fun foods and tasty treats, all while creating great memories. By working with us, you will be part of a team that makes that perfect day for our Guests!

Details:

• Early 2023 update: We are accepting applications from ages 14 and up. However, the majority of our positions are for those who are ages 16 and up.

• Starting pay range is $15.50 - $17 per hour (with all training courses are on file) PLUS generous tips!
  • All positions earn tips and the tips are averaging at just about $4 per hour! This has everyone seeing their hourly money at nearly $20 per hour OR HIGHER depending on age!
  • 18 years of age and up make $17;
  • 16 and 17 year olds make $16;
  • and the few positions we have for 14 and 15 year olds make $15.50
• We offer flexible scheduling which works well for those with other jobs, school and sports obligations, and other commitments.

• Additionally, there are GREAT discounts for the Boardwalk (including free Boardwalk ride wristbands!) Also, we have a mental health benefit through a partnership with a company called BetterHelp. BetterHelp is the leading online therapy platform with over 20,000 therapists across the United States.

• COVID-19 protocol: We strongly encourage all crew to be vaccinated as it is proven to be a way to protect yourself, your family, and the community. However, it is not required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide outstanding guest service in a fast-paced, loud environment
• Prepare food correctly and at the highest quality standards
• Sell beer in compliance with state law and company policies (if age 18 or older)
• Maintain safety, health, and sanitation requirements

Qualifications & Training:

• 14 years or older; 16 years and older preferred.
• Availability to work most weekends and holidays. More hours are available as we approach Spring Break and, of course, summer.
• Can stand on your feet for long periods of time.
• Can perform physically demanding tasks in close proximity to others in a loud, active environment.
• We provide a virtual orientation which will include great information.
• This will be followed by in-person hands-on training and of course, continued training throughout employment.
• Additionally, be willing to acquire the government mandated Food Handlers card.
• And, for those who are 18 years of age and over, be willing to to acquire training in the government mandated Responsible Beverage Service for beer & wine selling.
