Position: Food and Beverage Manager at Torresdale

Reports to: General Manager - Torresdale


Objective:
Daily supervision and execution of food and beverage in the clubhouse and pool. Oversees staff and supports the development of the food and beverage department, while managing operations within budget and to the highest standards.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Hires, onboards, and coaches of all Food and Beverage employees.
  • Responsible for developing training and onboarding practices that are efficient, effective, and explorative. Communicate expectations and service goals effectively and regularly to staff.
  • Establishes, monitors, and measures service and professional goals for employees.
  • Maintains a habitual marketing and advertising schedule.
  • Targets member needs and delivers upon them in a timely manner.
  • Identifies untapped target markets and develops action plans to attract them to Torresdale.
  • Maintains a two-way communication and accountability-based relationship with the Marketing department.
  • Shares content regarding MacAlester’s and Torresdale F&B with the Marketing department via approved mediums.
  • Develops a strong professional relationship with the back of the house, front of the house, private events, and golf staff.
  • Manages staff certifications and continued education, i.e., RAMP, WTC, ServSafe
  • Hires, onboards, and trains of all front of house staff.
  • Has a strong, “on-floor,” presence in both A la Carte and Banquet operations.
  • Keeps accurate personnel and financial data on all food and beverage operations including, but not limited to:MacAlester’s, The Poolside Café, The Sawyer House, ULGC Torresdale Banquets
  • Works closely with the Private Events Manager to execute special events, meeting with members and guests prior to events as needed.
  • Approves all personnel schedules, timecards, and gratuities.
  • Edits and communicates new menus internally and externally to the membership.
  • Performs quarterly inventory of all food and beverage supplies including linen, silverware, glassware items, service supplies, small equipment, staff uniforms, and essential office supplies and materials.
  • Reviews monthly inventory of all beverage and dry goods.
  • Orders supplies needed for Food and Beverage operations.
  • Inspects outlets to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of all supply rooms.
  • Develops dining room layout and flow with GM & Chef.
  • Explains monthly income statement, P&L statement, and ledger to teammates.
  • Creates, maintains, and serves the wine, cocktail, tobacco, and beer lists.

Skills Required:

  • College Degree – at least five-years food and beverage management or tenure with the Union League
  • Knowledge of food and beverage in an upscale private club setting - is able to bartend, serve, bus, and host
  • Outgoing, friendly, professional in appearance and manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and in POS - Jonas preferred
