Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union is accepting applications for floating substitutes to assist in providing a structured educational atmosphere where students have the support to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth. Responsible for supporting the instructional program (designed and instructed by classroom/content teacher) that results in students achieving academic success in accordance with RNESU learning guidelinesPLANNINGSupport in implementation of the Learning Program so that it is consistent with the total educational philosophy of the district and the plans from cooperating/collaborating teacherPursue professional growth through self-directed, as well as defined professional development opportunities, which may include additional training, professional learning communities, outside research, and reading professional literatureAssist with classroom-wide data analysis, under the direction of the cooperating/collaborating teacher or building administrator PROGRAMMINGImplement teacher-provided instructional activities that contribute to a positive environment to assist students to be actively engaged in meaningful learning experiencesProvide classroom behavior and academic support to meet the needs of all studentsCollaborate with the instructional teams concerning student educational needs as needed. Maintain connection and communication with cooperating teachers.Clearly articulates deadlines, schedules, and procedures to students to ensure that students complete coursework in a timely mannerAssist students with technical support requests relating to the classroom interface Support a variety of programs and software applications, as appropriate, to complete instructional and administrative tasksParticipate in PD training as scheduled by building administratorMONITORING AND REPORTINGMeet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely mannerEvaluate student performance on a regular basis and provide feedback to students and cooperating/collaborating teachersRefer students who are not complying with course, content, or program policies to the building administrator for necessary interventions. Notify cooperating/collaborating teachers.OTHEROther duties as assigned by the Building Administrator.QUALIFICATIONSHigh School DiplomaADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with federal, state and RNESU requirements.Ability to keep and maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.Ability to act on and uphold the policies and procedures established by the board and administrationExcellent communication skills, organizational skills and ability to complete tasks with attention to detail in a timely mannerAbility to make independent judgments.Ability to multi-task.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and cooperating/collaborating teacherAbility to communicate effectively orally and in writing with parents, faculty, staff, administration, school board and members of the community.Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form, including electronic media, using positive interpersonal skillsAbility to manage behavior and prioritize learning needsAbility to direct students to independent activities while assisting other students as they needAbility to organize and implement a daily schedule for the pod of studentsAbility to organize, prioritize, manage and carry out duties efficiently and within established timeframesAbility to use effective strategies in differentiating instructionKnowledge of instructional best practices for online learningDemonstrate effective problem solving skills in a proactive mannerTOOLS/TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS: Proficiency in the use of technology (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, data bases, email, Google docs, and use of Internet).Demonstrate operational knowledge of Internet and Web-related technologies, as well as RNESU platforms (Google Suite)
