Firmwide Practice Technology Specialist Job at HKS, Inc.
Overview:
HKS is seeking a talented Firmwide Practice Technology Specialist to join the Practice Technology team.
A Firmwide Practice Technology Specialist will provide guidance and support to the strategic application of BIM and innovative design technologies on HKS projects. The Firmwide Practice Technology Specialist will be available to support project teams to leverage BIM and advanced technology in developing a more efficient and effective delivery processes. The position will provide support to HKS project teams, Office Practice Technology Specialists and Regional Practice Technology Leaders as requested to ensure the implementation of company-wide technology objectives, standards, and training. Additionally, the role will provide consistent and relevant communication to support a global vision for the application of BIM and design technology at HKS by identifying trends and evolving topics within support and improvement requests.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to Office Practice Technology Specialists and BIM Managers as required/requested;
- Assist Office Practice Technology Specialists and BIM Managers in the development BIMs for projects from Concept through Construction Administration;
- Provide support to Office Practice Technology Specialists and BIM Managers to ensure BIM production efforts meet firmwide design and quality standards;
- Enforce organizational best practices and prerequisite skills to ensure compliance with established firmwide standards for design excellence;
- Interface with and provide technical guidance to Office Practice Technology Specialists and BIM Managers to ensure the efficient and effective application of BIM and design technology on HKS projects;
- Provide feedback on project-based activities to the Firmwide Practice Technology Resources;
- Assist in maintaining and creating firm-wide documentation, procedures and standards;
- Possess full knowledge of Practice Technology best practices, firmwide standards and expectations for design excellence;
- Assist in the creation and development of best practices, firmwide standards and expectations for design excellence;
- Assist team members in learning processes and growing professionally;
- Lead and empower Office Practice Technology Specialists and BIM Managers to proactively flag and solve project issues;
- Be a mentor to team members by providing guidance, feedback, QA/QC, and direction on modeling and delivery methodologies;
- Engage with project teams for limited engagements on project specific work;
- Understand and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices through involvement with firm leadership, BIM committees, and technology champions;
- Collaborate & Assist project teams to allow for adoption of HKS Plugins in Revit;
- Work closely with Practice Technology Leadership to detect trends and evolving topics within HKS design and delivery process;
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in an Architecture, Interior Design or Construction related field;
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience with Autodesk Revit and BIM Management;
- Expert Knowledge of and proven practical experience in AEC authoring and management applications including Autodesk (Revit, Navisworks Manage, BIM 360 and Forge), Rhino, Sketchup and their API interfaces;
- Solid understanding of legacy CAD applications and practices, particularly AutoCAD;
- Proven ability to produce quality construction documents;
- Solid understanding of building detailing, construction principles and practices;
- Familiarity with design visualization applications including Autodesk 3D Max, Enscape, Lumion, Vray and
- Unreal Engine a plus;
- Familiarity with environmental analysis applications such as Sefaira, Insight360, Lady Bug/Honeybee, Fenestra Pro, WUFI, and IES a plus;
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a demonstrated ability to deliver business change through the innovative use of data and technology;
- Evidence of strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to engage a range of audiences, stakeholders, and partners;
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and under pressure of deadlines;
- Demonstrate a reliable, responsive and positive work ethic with the highest degree of integrity;
- Willingness to engage with teams firmwide to conduct research and/or deliver projects, travel may be required;
- Advanced degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Computer Science preferred.

Base Salary Range: $64k-$110k annually – for Colorado, New York and California locations only.
