To be a Fire Alarm Inspector you should be able to:
- Test, inspect, and tag the condition/operability of commercial fire alarm system equipment, such as but not limited to smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, smoke beams, waterflows, tamper valves, horn and speaker strobes, standby batteries, power supplies, and alarm transmitting equipment.
- Ensure alarm, supervisory, and trouble signals are properly transmitted by the controls and received by the Central Station.
- Make minor repairs of commercial fire alarm systems.
- Promote and maintain good customer relations. Project professionalism and a positive image to customers.
- Carry a NICET I, II, III, IV or Utah State Fire Technician Level I, II, or III. (Preferred but not required)
- Possess basic computer skills and be comfortable with smart phone devices, laptop computers and electronic filing of documents.
- Hold a valid state driver’s license, without restrictions.
- Have a High school diploma or GED.
