Richmond Beverage Solutions has immediate job openings for well-versed swing relief filler operators to perform an array of functions including maintaining, breaking down and setting up equipment and machinery, while troubleshooting and resolving basic to moderate operating issues. Machine operators will be responsible for processing finished or raw materials, while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and communicating effectively with all departments and meeting daily deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine.

Shuts down machine to repair and report malfunction to supervisor.

Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as setting guides, or clearing away damaged product containers.

Operates and works with coding equipment.

Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications.

Replenishes packaging supplies.

Mounts supplies in feeding devices.

Work with chemicals and chemical pumps.

Sterilize, sanitize and wash equipment.

Recognize and troubleshoot improper packaging or sanitation procedures.

Must follow all company and regulatory policies/guidelines relating to food safety and quality.

This position requires the associate to be responsible for food safety, food quality and regulatory requirements in their work areas.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
