Position Summary

The Facility Caretaker is responsible for executing routine, emergency and seasonal custodial duties of the production floor. May also perform simple repairs and maintenance tasks, and basic security checks of the building.

Essential Functions

· Removal of trash throughout the plant as well as outside trash containers

· Removal and disposal of pallets throughout the plant

· Collection of cardboard and use of bailer

· Operate ride-on floor scrubber throughout the plant on a regular basis

· Empties metal scrap dumpsters in the machine shop

· Performs other various cleaning projects and tasks throughout the plant

· Performs weed killing, magnetic parking lot cleaning and general outside clean up during warmer seasons

· Removal of snow at man-doors and salt spreading during colder seasons

Qualifications

· HS diploma or equivalent

· Ability to perform a variety of tasks under limited supervision

· Ability to work within established company and safety guidelines

· Experience operating forklifts, floor scrubbers, and carboard bailing machines preferred

Physical Requirements

· Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

· Ability to lift up to 100 pounds-occasionally and with assistance

· Ability to bend, kneel and stoop frequently

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

· Ability to follow all safety requirements.

· Ability to work with both arms extended for an extended period of time.

Work Environment

Normal shop environment that includes some exposure to noise, fumes and dust.
