General Purpose of the Position

Responsible for inspecting and maintaining Credit Union properties, both owned and leased space, including but not limited to, buildings, equipment, utilities, furnishings, and grounds. The Facility Technician II performs skilled maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, as well as all other aspects of the physical building structure as well as site work, according to industry standards. Troubleshoots and performs preventive maintenance, makes repairs, and supervises, directs, and assists outside service providers and contractors as needed. Assists and implements construction and capital improvement projects. Reports major repair and maintenance needs to the Administrative Services and Facilities leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following). May perform other duties as requested or assigned.

  • Provides excellent service by demonstrating courtesy and personal concern for members, coworkers, vendors and contractor needs and followsup to ensure those needs are met.
  • Operates building equipment and HVAC including automation system to maintain proper heat, cooling, power, plumbing, etc.
  • Assists outside service representatives in checking, maintaining and repairing building equipment.
  • Reviews and performs site preventive maintenance program. Conducts operational functions for maintenance logs and reports, work orders including all repairs, updating status towards completion, close out and status updates to key stakeholders. Performs minor building and furniture modifications or repairs involving carpentry, painting, electrical work, and plumbing.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
  • Provides assistance and direction on outside service and repair work. Follows up on work assignments and ensures that outside services are efficiently performed and completed on-time and on-budget.
  • Maintains building exterior including hardscapes and landscaping on an as-needed basis.
  • Completes assigned maintenance functions in accordance with OSHA regulations, local up to federal codes, as well as established policies and procedures.
  • Operates snow removal equipment to maintain hardscapes.
  • Provides emergency or on-call service as required which may require work after hours and/or weekends.
  • Assist in the central supply function, fulfilling site order requests.
  • Assist in the mail handling function fulfilling site order requests.
  • Measure, report, support resolution of all ADA compliance concerns at all properties.
  • Adhere to all Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the Credit Union, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
An Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to operate standard office machines and PC. Able to operate drills, electrical tools, meters, timers, hand tools, snow blower, Credit Union of Colorado vehicles and related machinery. Ability to apply oral and interpersonal skills that develop member confidence, respect and trust in Credit Union of Colorado and develop cooperative relationships with all levels of people throughout the organization. HVAC and small engine repair certifications desired. Current Drivers License and automobile insurance without any felony convictions within seven years of identified start date. Experience with Microsoft software services, virtual/livestream (Zoom, WebEx, etc.) and mobile devices. Knowledge of compliance procedures as required by local authorities (i.e. back flows, elevator recalls, fire inspections).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high rooftop areas. The employee is occasionally exposed to chemicals, fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually noisy. The employee is subject to changing inside and/or outside temperatures, which may include extreme heat or extreme cold. Works both inside and outside, subject to the weather.
Frequently travels within the Denver Metro and Front Range area. Occasionally travels within state borders which may require overnight stay. Ability to be on-call as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing this job, the employee is typically required to stand and use hands feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk or hear. The employee is required to sit, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, push or pull. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally, the employee may be required to lift up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
