Fab Shop Operator Job at The Hayes Approach
Our Company manufactures tools for electrical contractors, offering more than 100 products, including cable pullers, conduit benders, and knockout sets. We are based in Upstate Greenville, South Carolina, and the Company is proud of its national connections, as well as its customer service. We are currently looking for a Fab Shop Operator.
JOB SUMMARY:
Set up and operate all machines in the fab shop to produce all parts needed according to specs
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Accurate and efficient manual fabrication of parts according to blueprints
- Practice efficiency and accuracy with all machines used in the fabrication process
- Maintain conscious attention to quality and efficiency in output of product
- Keep accurate inventory of parts in baskets
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Setup work station at beginning of shift by plugging in tools
- Unload metal from vendor trucks
- Clean and maintain all machines
- End work day by submitting appropriate paperwork, cleaning up workstation and unplugging all tools
SAFETY / HOUSEKEEPING
- Always work in a safe manner and ensure co-workers do the same
- Operate forklift in a safe manner as learned in forklift training course
- Use all safety attire/equipment as needed to complete the job
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area, including floor space, shelving and work stations
- Before leaving each day, ensure all tools are unplugged
- Maintain all tools and equipment in clean, working condition
- Report any defective tools or equipment to the Shop Supervisor for repair or replacemen
Pay level will be dependent on experience.
Starting pay with experience in a variety of machines but NO press brake experience starting at $20.00 an hour
Starting pay with several years of press brake experience starting at $24.00 an hour
