Position Summary
This position reports to the Director of the Upper School and performs a variety of duties in support of classroom teachers. The teaching assistant will serve as a substitute teacher and support a range of supervision needs.

Responsibilities of a 6-12 (Middle School and Upper School) Teaching
Assistant:

• Substitutes for teachers as needed
• Supervises students during morning and lunch breaks
• Supervises study halls and after school activities
• Participates in the New Teacher Program
• Takes attendance
• Attends some after school meetings as required by the school director, lead teacher or, grade-level team

• Ability to multitask and practice flexibility
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Joy working with young people

• Commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google docs
• Knowledge and commitment around diversity, equity and including practices and the impact it has on classroom climate and curriculum
• A desire to seek feedback and practice a growth mindset
• High Standards of professional conduct

Compensation: This is an hourly, non-exempt position. The pay is $25.00 -
$30.00 per hour DOE and is eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and matching 403(b) plan and daily lunch.
