Job Summary: In this role you will have the opportunity to supervise, schedule, and coordinate the activities of workers to operate aluminum extrusion presses to manufacture extruded parts by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Analyzes work orders to estimate production hours and create work schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
  • Computes amounts of material and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and assures materials are available.
  • Interprets specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties per established Work Instructions.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to eliminate extrusions (scrap) which fail to meet customer requirements or Aluminum Association standards.
  • Establishes work procedures to meet customer requirements, Pennex QMS requirements, and Aluminum Association standards.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems as an individual or on a Team, and also assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Assists in development of capital equipment justifications for tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times.
  • Completes Manufacturing Process Audits per Audit Schedule on shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Education
  • Desired: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Required: High School Diploma with advanced training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience
  • 5 years or more experience supervising manufacturing operations. Automotive industry experience or Aluminum Extrusion experience a plus.
  • Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills
  • Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments
  • Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects and prioritize them appropriately
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively disseminate information in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, vendors and employees of the organization
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
